  • Major Internet Disruption Between Asia, Europe, UK

Undersea Cable Damage Causing Major Internet Disruption between Asia, Europe and UK

Major problems with the undersea submarine fiber cables feeding the global Internet have been causing disruptions for the Asia-Pacific region over the last month. Trans continent submarine cable issues are severely degrading the reliability, quality and latency within Asia and especially between Asia and Europe or the UK. Internet connections from Asia to Europe are severely impacted by multiple fiber-optic cable cuts near Indonesia/Red Sea as of April 2026, causing major disruptions in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Subsea cable damage has been reported with multiple cuts on lines linking Singapore to Europe, severely affecting data traffic from the east. Regional instability with attacks in the Red Sea and incidents near the Strait of Hormuz may also have damaged or severed critical submarine fiber-optic cables, cutting vital, high-speed routes between Asia and Europe.

Many links from Asia to Europe have been rerouted across the Pacific Ocean to the US/Canada, then across the Atlantic. However, these emergency routing measures introduce nearly double the fiber distance and massively increase congestion for Internet traffic flowing between Asia and Europe/UK.
Repairs are expected to take weeks, causing high latency, packet loss, and poor speeds, particularly during peak hours in Asia and/or Europe.

  • Omnibus Ultra-Compact, Low-Energy Servers

Cordeos Unveils “Omnibus” – Ultra-Compact, Low-Energy Server Stack

Cordeos Corp has announced the first version of its new compact server platform, Omnibus, an ultra-small, high-performance server stack designed to deliver enterprise-grade capability within a footprint measuring just 30 centimeters cubed.

The Omnibus platform combines redundancy, compute performance, and energy efficiency into a highly compact form factor. Engineered for modern business environments, the system is designed to operate with significantly lower power consumption compared to traditional rack-mounted infrastructure, while maintaining reliability and operational resilience.

Despite its small size, Omnibus integrates multiple layers of redundancy, enabling continuous operation even in the event of component failure. The design supports high-density compute workloads, making it suitable for edge deployments, small office environments, and distributed infrastructure models.

“Omnibus represents a shift in how we think about infrastructure. By combining efficiency, redundancy, and performance in a compact footprint, we can deliver powerful systems without the space, power, and cooling requirements of traditional server environments.”

The platform aligns with Cordeos’ broader strategy of reducing infrastructure complexity and energy consumption. Its compact design allows deployment in environments where space and power are limited, eliminating the need for dedicated server rooms in many use cases.

Initial versions of Omnibus are expected to be deployed across select client environments and internal systems, with further development planned to expand capacity and integration capabilities.

  • Major Update to 802.1X Network Access Control

Cordeos Announces Major Update to 802.1X Network Access Control System

Cordeos Corp has announced a major update to its 802.1X network access control (NAC) system, introducing enhanced security controls, improved device visibility, and more streamlined policy management for modern business environments.

The updated platform strengthens authentication and access enforcement across wired and wireless networks, ensuring that only authorized users and compliant devices can connect. The new release includes improved integration with directory services, expanded support for device profiling, and more granular access control policies.

One of the key improvements is a redesigned policy engine that allows administrators to define and enforce network access rules based on user identity, device type, location, and security posture. This enables more flexible and adaptive network segmentation without increasing administrative complexity.

“As networks become more distributed and security threats more sophisticated, strong access control is essential. This update enhances both security and usability, giving organizations better control over who and what can access their network.”

The update also introduces improved monitoring and reporting capabilities, providing real-time visibility into connected devices, authentication events, and potential security risks. These enhancements support faster incident response and better overall network governance.

Designed for SMEs and enterprise environments alike, the enhanced 802.1X system aligns with Cordeos’ broader focus on security-first infrastructure and compliance-ready IT operations.

The updated platform is now being rolled out across Cordeos-managed environments, with additional features and integrations planned in future releases.

  • Develops Redundant 19V Power Supply

Cordeos Develops Redundant 19V Power System for NUC and Small Computing Platforms

Cordeos Corp has announced the development of a compact redundant 19V power supply system designed specifically for NUC and other small form-factor computing platforms.

The new system addresses a common limitation in small computing environments, where single power adapters create a single point of failure. By introducing a redundant power design, Cordeos aims to bring enterprise-level reliability to compact, low-power infrastructure.

The solution is engineered to provide seamless failover between dual power sources, ensuring continuous operation in the event of power supply failure. It is designed for use in edge deployments, compact server stacks, and distributed IT environments where space, efficiency, and uptime are critical.

“Small form-factor systems are increasingly used in critical environments, but power redundancy has often been overlooked. This development allows us to extend high-availability principles to compact infrastructure without adding significant complexity.”

The 19V redundant power system is optimized for integration with NUC-based platforms and other low-voltage computing devices. Its compact design allows deployment alongside existing systems without requiring major changes to infrastructure layout or power distribution.

The development supports Cordeos’ broader strategy of building resilient, energy-efficient infrastructure solutions that reduce reliance on traditional server hardware while maintaining high availability and operational stability.

Initial prototypes are currently under testing, with planned integration into upcoming compact server platforms and client deployments.

  • 3D Printer Farm Investment

Cordeos Invests in 3D Printing Farm to Accelerate Custom IT Infrastructure Solutions

Cordeos Corp has announced a strategic investment in a new 3D printing farm designed to produce custom server, rack, and mounting components for its IT operations and client environments.

The initiative will enable Cordeos to rapidly design and manufacture specialized hardware accessories, including server brackets, rack mounts, cable management components, and custom-fit enclosures. By bringing production in-house, the company aims to reduce lead times, improve deployment flexibility, and enhance support for non-standard or space-constrained installations.

The 3D printing farm will support both internal infrastructure projects and client deployments, particularly in environments where off-the-shelf components are insufficient or unavailable. This capability is expected to streamline installation workflows and reduce reliance on external suppliers.

“Modern IT environments often require highly specific mounting and hardware solutions. With in-house 3D printing capabilities, we can design, prototype, and deploy custom components much faster, improving both efficiency and reliability.”

The investment aligns with Cordeos’ broader focus on innovation and operational efficiency. By leveraging additive manufacturing, the company can iterate designs quickly, optimize component fit, and reduce material waste compared to traditional fabrication methods.

The 3D printing farm is now operational and will be integrated into upcoming infrastructure projects across Cordeos’ regional client base.
